These Terms of Service govern your use of the Study Assistant website at studyassistant.io, the application at app.studyassistant.io, and related study tools. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. Using Study Assistant
Study Assistant helps you turn recordings and other study content into transcripts, summaries, notes, flashcards, and practice quizzes. You may use the service for lawful educational and personal study purposes, subject to these terms and any limits shown in your account or plan.
You must be old enough to use the service under the laws that apply to you. Where parental or guardian permission is required, you must obtain it before using the service.
2. Your Account
Provide accurate account information, keep your login details secure, and do not share access in a way that permits misuse. You are responsible for activity under your account. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Recordings, Uploads, and Permissions
You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed to record, upload, process, or share lectures, class discussions, documents, and other materials. Follow your school’s rules, your instructor’s requirements, applicable recording laws, and the privacy and intellectual property rights of others. Do not upload confidential information or another person’s personal information without appropriate authorization.
You retain your rights in the content you provide. You give Study Assistant permission to host, store, reproduce, and process that content as needed to operate the service and produce the study materials you request, as described in our Privacy Policy. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to us.
4. AI-Generated Study Materials
Transcripts, summaries, notes, flashcards, and quizzes may contain errors, omissions, or misleading information. Review generated materials against your original sources and course requirements before relying on them. Study Assistant does not guarantee accuracy, grades, exam results, or any particular learning outcome. The service supports learning and does not replace instruction or professional advice.
5. Acceptable Use and Academic Integrity
- Do not use the service to violate the law or another person’s rights.
- Do not use it to cheat, plagiarize, or breach assessment rules or academic integrity requirements.
- Do not upload unlawful, harmful, infringing, or abusive material.
- Do not attempt to access other accounts, bypass usage limits, disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, or exploit security vulnerabilities.
- Do not resell the service or copy its software or branding without permission.
6. Plans and Payments
If you choose a paid feature or subscription, the price, billing period, renewal terms, and applicable cancellation or refund conditions will be shown before purchase. Review those details before confirming payment. Any mandatory consumer rights you have under applicable law continue to apply.
7. Our Content and Third-Party Services
The Study Assistant name, branding, software, and website content belong to Study Assistant or their respective rights holders. Your use of the service does not give you ownership of those materials. Third-party links and services may have their own terms and privacy policies; review them when using those services.

9. Availability, Suspension, and Ending Use

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the revised terms here and update the date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request agreement before material changes take effect.
